Nutmeg was once considered to be one of the expensive spices around the world, that the Dutch decided to wage war for it to gain an upper hand in the spice trade. Nutmeg is a spice that has a distinctive fragrance and a tad sweet taste thus used for flavoring confectionaries, soft drinks, beverages, candles, massage Oils, home remedies for sleep aid, and other personal products for relaxation and stabilizing one’s mood. Nutmeg essential Oil is obtained by steam-distilling the dried kernels of the ripe seeds of the Nutmeg. The Oil has components such as Sabinene, Limonene, Geraniol, Myrcene and a-pinene. The Nutmeg Oil is believed to have anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and antispasmodic properties. Thus, Nutmeg Oil may be employed as painkillers, for indigestion, improving blood circulation, eliminating bad breath etc. As Nutmeg Oil inherits both the fragrance and the Flavor of Nutmeg it is also used in Flavors, Soaps, Room Fresheners and Shampoos.

Directions of Use

Diffusion: Use three to four drops in the diffuser of choice.

Topical use: Apply one to two drops to desired area. Dilute with Our Earth's carrier oils to minimise any skin sensitivity.
